Assessment provides a reality check and often surprising information about each others perspective on the relationship. They may discover that they do not agree with their partner as much as they think they do, and are less aware of their partners perspectives (ideas, thoughts, feelings) as they assume.

- One consistent finding is that couples are very curious about how well they did on the assessment. As a result, they are very interested in returning after they have taken the assessment to get feedback. They particularly like to know about their couple strengths, but are generally interested in all the feedback. Educators have found a reduction in their dropout rates when they know that they will be receiving feedback about their couple assessment.
