At the end of the day, it’s the small stuff that sends a message about whom we care about most.
Over the next 30-Days, join me in a journey to becoming a more humble and caring husband, a husband that is fully engaged in his relationship. A husband who considers his wife and is aware of what he does and how that impacts his wife’s life. Working towards ensuring his wife knows she is important.
Learning to appreciate that incremental, small changes can make a difference, join me and take these small steps to improving your life with your wife. Start today and make changes that will last a lifetime.
- Day 28: Become a Great Listener. “Reflecting”. When engaging with you wife today, let your first step be to simply reflect what your spouse has told you… “So what I hear you saying is___________.”
Listen especially for the feelings they are telling you. “And you are feeling hurt by that.” Reflecting gives you as the listener a “Go-to” skill even when you do not know what to say. It is also a way of telling your wife that their words are very important to you and that you are listening and paying attention to them.
Finally, reflecting gives your wife a chance to hear their own words given back to them so as to ensure you understand and to accurately fit or to adapt them to be even more accurate of their true feelings.
Start today and make those incremental, small but significant changes to improving your life with your wife. Tune in for Day 29 tomorrow…
